Materials:
2 50 mL beakers
lead nitrate solution – Pb(NO3)2(aq)
potassium iodide solution – KI(aq)
funnel
filter paper
Procedure:
- Label one of the 50 mL beakers "A" and the other "B".
- Pour 10 mL lead nitrate solution – Pb(NO3)2(aq)
into beaker "A".
- Pour 10 mL potassium iodide solution – KI(aq) into
beaker "B".
- Pour the contents of beaker "B" into beaker "A".
- Make observations.
- Clean beaker "B".
- Fold filter paper as directed.
- Put into funnel and wet.
- Pour the contents of beaker "A" into the funnel. (Be sure to catch
the liquid in cleaned beaker "B".)
- Dispose of all chemicals as directed.
- Wash hands thoroughly.
